WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT WHEN YOU BOOK A REIKI SESSION

Firstly, let me explain what Reiki is and what it is not.

Reiki is not affiliated with any religion or religious practice, and it is not massage. It is a natural, safe method of holistically activating the healing process in the body to restore physical and emotional well-being.

Reiki Practitioners are conduits or vessels that Reiki energy flow through to the client. Each client has unique requirements and feel energies differently. Reiki energy knows where it is needed and what it needs to do for the highest good of the client.

Here are 9 questions that are frequently asked.

1. How long is a Reiki Session?

A Reiki session is usually 55 to 60 minutes, with the initial session being about 90 minutes to allow for discussion covering any problems or issues the client would like to focus on and to go over how the session will run.

2. Are sessions done lying down or sitting up?

Generally, you will be lying down on a massage table or reclined in a chair. There are chair Reiki sessions where the client is sitting in a chair and maybe to accommodate for disabilities.

3. Do I keep my clothes on for the session?

Yes, Reiki sessions are done fully clothed. A light sheet or blanket is placed over the client to keep them warm.

4. Is one session enough?

One session can be enough to resolve whatever issues there are, however, often several sessions are required. The practitioner will be in a better position to determine the number of sessions are needed at the end of the initial session.

5. What does Reiki feel like?

Everyone processes energy differently. Some people feel heat, a tingling sensation and or nothing at all. The lack of feeling anything does in no way means that the Reiki energy isn’t working or that none was received. This is how the body senses energy. What most people feel is a sense of peace, calm, and deep relaxation; falling asleep during session is quite normal.

6. Can you receive too much Reiki?

The simple answer to this is, no. Reiki knows where it needs to go and works with the body’s energy. The body will take only as much as it wants and needs to support the healing process.

7. Can I drive after a session?

Yes, you will be able to drive after a session. The Reiki practitioner will ensure that you are grounded before you will be able to leave.

8. Are there any medical conditions where a Reiki treatment shouldn’t be done?

Reiki supports and works in conjunction with any treatments that are being received through your doctor.

9. Is there anything special to do after a session?

The body’s energy system may be operating at a more optimum and efficient level and will need to be well hydrated. Drinking lots of water and taking an Epsom salts bath or shower before bed is recommended. You may also wish or want to journal, putting down on paper any feelings or emotions that you have or have come up.

I would love to connect with you, to discuss any questions you may have or to book a Reiki session.

With Reiki Blessings, Diana
